The DP made the statement while commissioning two mega water projects in Iftin Ward, Garissa county on Monday.

“About the problem you have with TSC, I want to assure you that it will be resolved,” Ruto said yesterday.

The leaders took umbrage at the lowering of entry grades from the current stipulated C to D+ into the institution as part of encouraging the locals to take up the teaching profession to address the shortage of tutors in the region.

The region has been hit by an exodus of non-local instructors due to sporadic insecurity perpetrated by the insurgent-based in Somalia, Alshabab.

The DP at the same time called on the local form 4 leavers to embrace the teaching vocation in a view to bridging the disproportional student- teacher ratio in the region.

He also assured the commitment of the government to ensuring access to education to all the communities, especially those from pastoral areas.

“I want to give you our assurance as government that the education of our children, especially those from the pastoral communities, is a priority commitment,” Ruto said.
