Former Nacada boss John Mututho has hit out at politicians against the war on corruption.
Addressing media at his Jomec centre, Mututho said the law should face up with those embezzling public funds. He called on Kenyans to support President Uhuru Kenyatta on the fight against graft.“The fight that is there right now is between the corrupt and those who are not corrupt. But then there is a third party who are the citizens who will wake up one day and make it tough for the corrupt cartels,” said Mututho. He expressed confidence in the investigating agencies in the country that they will nail all those involved.“We know we have investigating agencies and they are playing their role so that the lords of corruption in this country can be ashamed,” he said.Mututho spoke at a time when three Cabinet Secretaries are being interrogated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations over the awarding of a multi-billion shilling tender for the construction of dams in the country.According to George Kinoti, the Director of Criminal Investigations, the ministers are Agriculture’s Mwangi Kiunjuri, who was at the helm of the Devolution ministry when the Kimwarer and Arror dam contracts were signed; current Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa; and their Water counterpart Simon Chelugui, who will be questioned over the Itare Dam tender in Nakuru County.Besides the Cabinet Secretaries, the DCI said he will also be summoning ‘all past and present principal secretaries’ from the time the projects were conceptualized.
