A Jubilee elected MP in Kisii County has dismissed claims that Gusii politicians have 'kidnapped' Deputy President William Ruto following his numerous visits to Kisii region.
Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i speaking at Nyachogochogo SDA Church on Saturday said Ruto has been coming to Kisii region helping in fund drive to improve infrastructures at churches and schools.
"No leader has kidnapped DP Ruto as claimed. He is happy returning to the region with the purpose of presiding fund drives to improve church infrastructures," he noted.
Tong'i called on those questioning DP Ruto continuous visits to Kisii region to keep off the community's politics.
"The electorates elected us to represent them and not serve political parties. As leaders we must interact with anyone. It is not a crime DP Ruto coming to Kisii because he comes to help," said Tong'i.
The lawmaker warned Kisii residents against falling into the tricks of 'crocodiles' adding that development must be given the top priority.
He urged voters not to elect any leader who will not promote development
"Lazy leaders should be shown the door in 2022 general elections," he stated.
