A visibly angry DP William Ruto has lashed at Kenyan media over what he termed as 'obsession' with his name.
Embroiled in unamed graft scandals, Ruto accused his competitors of hiding in 'rogue' media to bring him down.
"Newspapers cannot sell these days without my name in the headlines.
"They are obsessed with my name and they need it to make profits. Our competitors are hiding in them to sustain their agenda," fired Ruto.
He was addressing hundreds of youths in Bomachoge on Thursday hours after being ranked most corrupt Kenyan.
But the unmoved DP insisted that he will 'wait for his competitors and their rogue media on the ground' when time comes.
"They cannot beat our development record and are hiding in media. I will be waiting for them on the ground when time comes," he said.
It was Ruto's second tour in the larger Gusii region given that he attended Henry Obwocha's funeral last Friday in Nyamira.
The DP is keen to solidify his support in Kisii and Nyamira Counties, a region that has traditionally backed Raila Odinga.
