Ngenia High School in Limuru, has been closed indefinitely after fire razed down two dormitories that house more than 300 students.
According to reports the fire broke out on Saturday night while students were watching football.
Initial reports suggest that teh fire was caused by an electric fault.
Police are said to be reviewing CCTV footage that will guide investigations into the incident.
In Nyahururu, another fire incident occured the Nyahururu Boys High School on Saturday night.
The fire is reported to have started at 7:30 pm leaving 76 students counting losses.
More than 20 schools that have been shut down cross the country, three months to the national examinations.
