Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru has threatened to sue research firm Ipsos Synovate over its report indicating that she is the second most corrupt leader in the country.
Waiguru said that the survey is in bad taste, arguing that it is meant to incite Kenyans against their leaders.
The Jubilee governor rubbished the survey saying it is pure propaganda.
She accused Ipsos of running a smear campaign against her and other leaders.
“Shame on you Ipsos, shame on you for running a smear agenda that is political,” Waiguru told journalists in Kirinyaga town on Wednesday.
Waiguru said she has never been arraigned and charged in any court for any corruption matter.
The Kirinyaga governor who was flanked by her deputy Peter Ndambiri and several MCAs said that she instructed her lawyers to file a suit against Ipsos.
Governor Waiguru and Deputy President William Ruto were polled as the most corrupt leaders at 31 and 33 per cent respectively in the Ipsos survey released on Wednesday.
The survey was conducted between July 25 and August 2.
In 2016, Waiguru was cleared over corruption allegations relating to the Sh791 Million theft at the National Youth Service (NYS).
