A section of political players have been accusing the 14-member team of being under the guide of its founders; President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga on what it should propose.

But according to political analyst Ruth Ambogo, the fact that even Raila's allies appear not happy with the content of its first report indicates that the team is working independently.

Speaking on Saturday, the commentator noted that had the group been under the directions of the two leaders, then Raila allies would he silent, as they would be aware of what will follow.

"By looking, even ODM members are complaining that the report lacks what they wanted, this shows that the task force did its job properly (Ukiangalia, hata ODM wanalalama eti report haina vitu walitaka, inaonyesha taskforce walifanya kazi yao vilivyo)," she said on Radio Jambo Mazungumzo Waziwazi show.

This comes amid complaints from some ODM members who have expressed discomfort with the suggestions, including the recommendation that the president is picking the Prime Minister.

Such include Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, who was among the first ODM leaders to vocally come out against the report immediately after its release last month.

However, she cautioned the political class against pulling too much attention to BBI politics to avoid affecting common Kenyans.

She noted that Kenyans should only be brought in at the right time, as the current tussle on what should be in the report and how it should be implemented doesn't solve their troubles.

"This doesn't concern Kenyans. Kenyans are concerned about their lives, they don't want political fights (Hii haihusu wakenya. Wao wanataka kujua vile maisha yao itaendelea, political fights hawataki)," she added.
