The Friday evening accident was precipitated by a truck, carrying drilling machine which veered off the road knocking a lorry ferrying fish and a passenger matatu.

The Matatu belongs to Transline Classic which operates along Kisii-Nairobi routes. The Matatu was severely damaged, an indication of more casualties.
