Despite being a first-time legislator, the former journalist has always made headlines on a number of issues.

1) In April 2018, she left the country shocked when she said that men should marry more than five wives.

“We give birth to these children and we do not want to own up to them. If you are a man from the Kikuyu community, and you can sustain five wives, have them and if you are a man and you are in a position to bring up many children do it,” she said.

The manner in which she openly advocated for polygamy elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans. She, however, insisted that she cannot share her husband with anybody.

b) In August 2017, she received backlash after openly opposing the slashing of MP's salaries by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC)

The vocal MP argued that she deserves to be compensated well and honoured for occupying for the seat.

"Let us slash or raise salaries the right way. I want to be paid well. I want to be honoured for who I am," she said.

She recently left Kenyans amazed when she explained how an ideal man should behave.
