On Monday, during an interview on Musyi FM, Ngilu pleaded with Orengo to shelve the impeachment plan.

Ngilu instead asked Orengo and other opposition leaders to end their political war with DP Ruto.

Governor Ngilu said that elected leaders are wasting time engaging in non-issues.

Ngilu stated that Kenyans are tired of endless politickng and want to see their leaders champion development.

"Elected leaders across the political divide must drop their hard political differences and unite on development," she said.

Governor Ngilu noted that the handshake between president Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga was meant to create truce among politicians across the divide.

Ngilu warned that the country could easily slip back to animosity if elected leaders continue to trade ugly barbs.

The Kitui county boss urged Kenyans to remain united and shun leaders who she accused of trying to  plant seeds of discord.

Senator Orengo's plot to impeach Ruto continues to draw reactions across the divide.

On Sunday during rallies in Embakasi South, a section of ODM politicians led by party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna backed Orengo's plan oust Ruto.

However, a section of Jubilee Party politicians allied to DP Ruto has rubbished Orengo's impeachment plan.

The politicians are accusing Raila of allegedly having a hand in Orengo's plan to remove Ruto from office.

Orengo insists that he has enough grounds to push for Ruto's ouster.

It is not the first time Orengo is initiating an impeachment of a sitting executive office holder.

In 1998, Orengo who was then Ugenya MP unsuccessfully pushed for retired president Daniel Arap Moi's removal.
