State House Digital Communications and Diaspora Director Dennis Itumbi revealed about the interview which comes amid wrangles within the ruling Jubilee party.

"Jeff Koinange will host Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday January 16th in JKL Show on Citizen TV," tweeted Mr Itumbi, a close ally of the DP. https://twitter.com/OleItumbi/status/1084878334411063303?s=19.

In the weekly show, Mr Koinange hosts various leaders and entrepreneurs where state of the nation and contemporary politics are discussed for over 2 hours.

Dr. Ruto last appeared in a live TV interview in July 2018 when he was grilled by NTV's Mark Maasai, in which he dismissed reports linking him to various corruption scandals in the country.

But on Wednesday, Jubilee politics are expected to take center stage following dramatic resignation of David Murathe, the immediate former Jubilee Vice Chair after his outbursts against Dr Ruto.

"We must preach peace and unity. Our country is past cheap political divisions which have substantially hindred development. That is what we must do. Also, we must all respect the president," he said on Sunday.

Last week, Koinange hosted former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo where 2022 succession politics was widely discussed.
