Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has joined millions of Kenyans from all over the nation in congratulating Eliud Kipchoge for breaking the World Record.
Kalonzo took to his Twitter account to express his joy.
He said the marathoner had made the nation proud, adding that he wishes him well in his future endeavors.
“Congratulations @EliudKipchoge the reigning Olympic champion and now the world record breaker in the @berlinmarathon at 2:01:40. What a sterling race indeed !. Our warriors per excellence. The world is at your feet. A 1, 2, 3 sweep is no mean feat Kenya,” Kalonzo twitted.
Kipchoge has now been named the greatest marathoner of all time after running the marathon in 2:01:39 thereby breaking Dennis Kimetto’s record of 2:02:57 set 2014.
President Uhuru Kenyatta could also not hide his joy upon receiving the news of the win at the marathon.
The head of state took the opportunity to thank all other Kenyans who participated in the competition, recognizing them as heroes following the exemplary performance.
“On behalf of an adoring nation and my Government, I congratulate you all for going out valiantly to bring a sterling victory for Kenya in the Marathon. You are our heroes. You have once again done our nation proud. Hongera,” Kenyatta said.
