Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa has accused Registrar of Political Parties for delayed disbursement of funds to parties.
Aladwa expressed his amazement on the manner in which the Registrar of Political Parties was delaying things thus putting political parties in a financial crisis.
The vocal lawmaker made the claims amid allegations that ODM party was in a financial problem.
“The constitution is clear as far as political parties’ funds are concerned, the biggest political parties should get the lion’s share and it has to be annually, but now I don’t understand where all this delay is coming from but I hope all will be well,” Aladwa noted.
He was speaking on Monday during an interview at Citizen Radio.
The MP, however, dismissed claims that ODM was having financial problems. He noted that the party is soon relocating to new offices which means they have financial stability.
“There is no financial crisis in ODM and there can never be such a thing because we are a well-organized and focused party,” he noted.
Recently, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed had also spoken of the same issue which raised concerns as to whether ODM has been allocated the political parties’ funds yet.
