Mwangi who shortly spoke to journalists at Milimani Law courts on Monday said that his daughter is innocent of the murder charge being levelled against her.

He said that Maribe is not capable of killing anyone as the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji and investigators are claiming.

“She (Jacque) is innocent, and God will rescue her from the troubles she is being forced to go through,” he told reporters on Monday.

Mwangi also asked Kenyans to pray for her daughter.

Maribe and her fiance Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, have been charged with Monica Kimani’s murder.

The two pleaded not guilty to the murder charge before High Court Judge Jessie Lessit on Monday.

Maribe and Irungu will, however, remain in prison remand pending their bail application and hearing before another Judge.

Lessit has referred the murder file to another Judge, and the case will be mentioned on October 17.
