The residents say the crimes have escalated in the recent past where the businessmen including those who are adjacent to the police station get their shops broken into and the criminals get away with their items.

The boda boda operators also complained about the alarming insecurity where their motorbikes get stolen in broad daylight and nothing is done.

The residents have now asked the government and police officers from Rioma Police stations to ensure security is reinstated in the region by conducting night patrols so that the criminals can be caught and judged.

"It has been alarming in the recent past and now you cannot pack your motorcycle and move a distance. You will come back and find out that your motorcycle is stolen. Please, we are asking the government to help us in order law and order can be reinstated," Jared Mokaya a boda boda operator said.

"It is so comical that the thieves break into shops which are adjacent to the police station. Thaddeus' shop was broken into last night and his shop is facing the station where items of unknown value were stolen. Let the police officers Carry night patrols to ensure the menace is curbed," Charles Mokaya a shop Keeper said.
