In an interview on KBC's The Big Conversation show on Wednesday morning, Weda observed that President Uhuru Kenyatta has succeeded in completely scuttling the opposition side.

He noted that by courting Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) boss early last year, Uhuru finished the opposition, and tactfully captured the main man on the side.

The political commentator said that Uhuru was very specific and careful in his move, arguing that was why he opted to bury the hatchet with Raila who was at the time steering the opposition bloc.

"Raila is a one man army who singlehandedly ran the opposition. Now that he is with the President the remaining opposition figures are powerless," he said.

Weda, however, stressed on the need for the nation to have another set of opposition leaders far from the ones currently purporting to be holding that position.

He proposed controversial politician Miguna Miguna who is currently considered Uhuru's leading critic to take over the mantle from Raila.

"We need someone like Miguna Miguna who is daring a fearless," said Weda.

Amani National Congress (ANC) boss Musalia Mudavadi has since declared himself the opposition chief and has been pushing Uhuru to make certain changes in government.

Raila and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka who joined Uhuru last year have also maintained that they remain part and parcel of the opposition.
