The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has postponed a number of exclusive events which were to be held on Tuesday.
ODM Party leader Raila Odinga was on Tuesday expected to launch a series of activities aimed at revamping the party, as well as officially open the party's new headquarters.
But the party, in communication to Members of Parliament, has postponed the same to avoid a clash with the expected launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
“Due to a clash between our function and the release of the BBI report, the party leader has requested that we push our function to Thursday 28th," reads the communication as quoted by The Star
On Tuesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to receive the BBI report from the BBI taskforce. Uhuru and Raila jointly co-founded the BBI and the BBI taskforce.
ODM Director of Membership Rosemary Kariuki said that the party will be using the Thursday event to come up with new modes of operations, as it seeks to "inject new blood" into the bloc.
She termed the launch of new communication platforms like SMSs and a website ad among those which will be introduced to party members and elected and nominated leaders.
"We have a documentary on the ODM journey and everyone who has been with us will attend. Others who will attend are all party officials at the county level, elected and nominated leaders,” she told the Star.
Raila will also launch a digital membership registration program as the member seeks to recruit as many members as possible ahead if the 2022 general elections.
