City lawyer Assa Nyakundi has confessed his deep love for his late son amid investigations into his mysterious shooting.
While seated on a hospital bed as he awaits his fate in court, Nyakundi insists that he never killed his son as alleged by the media. He reveals that his son was also an Arsenal fan and they shared many things including playing golf together during their free time.
The lawyer, who was admitted at the Nairobi Hospital after complaining about high blood pressure, now says he has lost everything he worked for in life. It has come to his attention that he might not escape justice no matter how long he will remain in his hospital bed.
He also said that he has never been arrested before the demise of his son and that he feels he has nothing else to lose after the son died.
“I have never been to a police cell, but if they take me to prison it will not be worse than losing my son in the way it happened,” Nyakundi told Daily Nation.
The deceased was laid to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery in Nairobi last week. The burial was a low-key event that attracted a few friends and relatives.
Detectives on Monday presented Makadara Senior Principal Magistrate Angelo Kithinji with a medical report for Nyakundi.
