The DP now says he is in full support of uniting Kenyans at all cost.

Ruto was speaking during a fundraiser t Kinna in Isiolo South on Friday.

Ruto revisited the President's address in Parliament on Thursday about unity noting that it is time to abandon ethnic-based associations.

"The president told all of us yesterday that our work is to unite Kenyans. And the most convenient and genuine way of uniting Kenyans is to abandon ethnic politics, political parties and organizations," remarked Ruto.

The DP noted that leaders should delink from ethnic political competition and focus on policy and development.

"Political competition should be based on policies and development and not between or amongst 'such and such tribe'.It should not be politics of hatred or bad mouthing Kenyans," added the DP.

The developments come after a looming division within the ruling party after the DPs camp alleged foul play.

Jubilee-allied politicians who are on Ruto's camp hold that the handshake between Uhuru and opposition leader Raila Odinga is inspired by ulterior motives from the latter who is not interested in uniting the country.
