Cherargei is part of a faction of the party that has questioned the motive behind the former Prime Minister's truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta early last year.

Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Citizen TV's News Night show, the county boss claimed that Odinga is indeed planning something to do with breaking the party, as has been revealed by his ally Siaya Senator James Orengo.

He claimed that Orengo's recent declaration that Deputy President William Ruto must exit the post is just a revelation of a bigger plot to frustrate the DP.

"Raila has never been sincere in his truce with the President and the remarks being made by Orengo are proof of a strategy in the making to fight the DP," he said.

Cherargei and team have repeatedly claimed that Raila is banking on paralysing the party to tame the DP ahead of his presidential bid in the 2022 general elections.

He claimed that the former Prime Minister joined Uhuru with an aim of disrupting the Jubilee manifesto and getting a campaign weapon against Ruto in the elections.

"His plan is to derail the Jubilee development agenda, deny Uhuru a legacy and then come back to say that the government failed as a campaign weapon against Ruto," he added.

This comes at a time when Raila has been seen supporting Uhuru's development proposals, the latest one being the Huduma Namba registration.
