A video from President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto’s 2017 campaigns has surfaced online, once again reminding the two of their failed promise.
Kenyatta and his number two rode on the many promises as they sought to ascend to power in 2013, with promoting sports by building the 5 stadia top on their agenda.
In their manifesto, as they campaigned read that they would build stadia in Kisumu, Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret, and Nakuru within their first term in office in a bid to improve sporting activities in the country.
However, more than 6 years into their administration, the two have failed to deliver on the promise.
Kenyans are now questioning the promises made by the two leaders, with the stadia in the country at their worst.
Early in the year, the country was stripped of the right to host the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) due to a delay in presenting reports on the preparedness of the country in hosting the games.
Much of this owed to the fact that there were no ready stadia to host the event, further hurting the gains made in developing sports in the country.
The president updated on his Twitter account last year that the plans were still on course and that Kenyans should be patient.
That has become a pipe dream though, with little on books in regard to the developments.
Kenyans will still wait to see if the government will keep good its promise, which is now more than 6 years old.
There are other projects that the Jubilee administration has not delivered on, but this stands out among the many.
