Makueni female nominated MCAs have decried discrimination in the assembly after they were allegedly ejected from a meeting in Mombasa County.
They claimed that ten of them were ejected from a conference at a Mombasa hotel on Monday.
The county legislators said they had been in the conference for three days before their stay was cut short after they were ordered to leave the convention.
They claimed that their male counterparts, both nominated and elected, were allowed to continue with the meeting.
Nominated MCA Janet Mwikali (Muungano party) claimed that the assembly has failed to observe the 2/3 gender rule.
"The assembly isn't observing the 2/3 gender rule. The Sarah Serem's directive that every MCA should employ three people wasn't honored," Mwikali said.
They addressed the press in Wote town on Monday.
The MCAs threatened to go to court in a bid to force the assembly to obey the gender rule and deter any further discrimination.
"We will go to court so that we teach the assembly a lesson, they will never forget. We will ensure the gender rule is obeyed," Mwikali added.
