Speaking after they met during the wedding of Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana's son Robert Kivutha at a church in Nairobi County, Mutua said they are not in bad terms.

Mutua said the most crucial thing is unity.

“The most important thing is that we met, we talked briefly and we agreed to keep talking,” Mutua said.

Kitui Senator and close Kalonzo ally Enoch Wambua has, however, asked Mutua to go slow over his ambitions.

Wambua argued that Mutua is a good leader but his term has not come.

“He may want to first come to terms with the political realities obtaining at the moment and recognise Kalonzo as the ultimate leader in the region. We all have ambitions but our time is not now,” Wambua said.

Mutua and Kalonzo have not been in good terms since the county boss decided to ditch Wiper.

The governor accused Kalonzo and his team of frustrating his leadership since he was elected into the gubernatorial position in 2013.

He opted to form Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement whose ticket he used to defend his seat.
