Despite indications that detectives are struggling to nail Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, the chief suspect in Monica Kimani's murder, DCI George Kinoti insists that he will not survive in the case.
In an interview with the Nation, Mr. Kinoti insisted that detectives have gathered 'enough evidence' to sustain the case.
One of the major milestone in the case is discovering fingerprints of Irungu on Monica Kimani's wine glasses and furniture in the house, an indication that he was at the crime scene during the fateful day.
Also, Irungu's phone data further revealed that he was at Monica's house, something that further throws him in a complex situation.
DNA samples collected from the crime scene are also being investigated with semen collected from Monica's body matching with that of Irungu.
At least ten witnesses among them Brian Kassaine, a neighbour to Irungu and his fiance Jacque Maribe, will testify in favour of the prosecution.
Mr. Irungu and Maribe took plea on Monday and will return to court on Wednesday for bail application hearing and determination.
Despite the overwhelming evidence, it's however proved difficult for detectives to establish the motive of killing given that there was no struggle detected at the crime scene.
