The office of the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has reprimanded lawyer Nelson Havi following his endless attacks to the ODPP.
According to Haji’s office, Havi has no moral authority to continue firing salvos at the DPP without any facts.
The DPP said that Havi has been claiming that his office paid bloggers across the nation to spread false information linking Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu to graft-related claims.
“Court reprimands lawyer Nelson Havi for attacking the DPP on social media without facts or evidence. The 5-Judge Bench reprimanded Havi for accusing DPP of paying bloggers to spread false information about DCJ Philomena Mwilu. #DCJMwilu_Prosecution,” read part of the Statement from the office of the DPP.
This comes after Haji revealed that Mwilu had a very close relationship with Imperial Bank manager.
Through lawyer Khawar Qureshi QC, who hails from the UK, Haji said that the relationship propelled her to commit charges levelled against her by his office.
“The petitioner had a direct line with the managing director. She is a very privileged individual, who would secure a loan without documentation or interest,” said Qureshi.
“The relationship between the petitioner and the managing director is not at arm’s length. In this case, it is the director who called the shots," he added.
