Despite exchanging warm greetings on Friday at Sironga, Raila Odinga may have left DP Ruto cursing heavens after the funeral service of former Minister Henry Obwocha.
While Raila's speech focused on his Building Bridges initiative, DP William Ruto on his part accuses politicians of revisiting 2017 divisive elections.
The grounds remained fully intact until Raila addressed the multitude after which Ruto took over.
However, by the time Ruto was on the podium, most of mourners had scattered with some leaving the venue.
And with an indication that they had all been waiting for Raila to address the multitude, Ruto struggled to pass his message with few of those who remained became noisy and unsettled.
Similarly, when both leaders left the scene, thousands of mourners would be heard chanting pro-pro-Raila slogans as Ruto boarded his chopper to Nairobi.
The rowdy crowd would later throng into Governor John Nyagarama's residence where Raila has gone to take lunch.
Nyamira County has been Raila's stronghold for over a decade and the two might face each other in 2022.
