The group has over the last few weeks been attacking Uhuru, accusing him of using his truce with opposition leader Raila Odinga to isolate the DP.

Speaking on Milele FM's Kivumbi Show Monday morning the Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General urged the DP to calm the situation the soonest possible.

He also took issue with Ruto's apparent opposition to Uhuru's actions, including his truce with opposition leader Raila Odinga and his trust in independent bodies in the graft purge.

"It has never been witnessed anywhere in the nation a Deputy President disrespecting and arguing with his President. This is the first such behavior across the globe," said Muluka.

He added that Ruto's actions point at a man unsatisfied with his own government's moves, urging him to redeem himself by resigning from office.

"If he lacks trust in the president and his institutions then he can simply resign. He will have all the freedom to condemn Uhuru once he is outside," he added.

However, Uhuru has remained largely silent on the claims being heaped on him and is yet to publicly respond to the latest allegations.
