Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i, while speaking at Kisii High School during a meeting where opinion leaders drawn from Kisii and Nyamira Counties who met with the Head of State, admitted that he faced hostility from members of the Gusii community.

"Mr President telling people about Jubilee during the 2017 polls was a hard task. I personally didn't know that people could vote for me. I survived defeat because I used tricks to win the electorates' hearts," he said.

He appealed to President Kenyatta to return again to Gusii region to commission development projects.

"I'm now happy that Mr President you have not ignored us. Please consider coming back again next time because as leaders we are focused in prioritizing development so that you can commission the projects," he added.

Mr Tong'i vowed to boost the livelihoods of the people in his constituency.

The vocal MP urged Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama and Kisii Governor to work around the clock to develop their counties.
