Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has dismissed claims that he lost in 2017 polls, arguing that the results were bungled in his opponent's favour.
IEBC declared Mr Shadrack Mose as winner with 33,000 votes while Bosire came second with 20,000 votes. His petition was dismissed at Nyamira High Court for lack of merit.
At Manga Catholic Church on Sunday, Bosire revisited events surrounding the controversial polls, arguing that residents voted him enmass.
"Kitutu Masaba people never voted me out. They came in large numbers and voted in my favour. They were equally shocked with the outcome," said the ODM treasurer.
According to him, Jubilee party targeted her critics from different parts of the country and manipulated the outcome to their detriment.
"I swear before God, I never lost in the polls. You voted for me and they took it away. However, I have since moved on. We never had elections in 2017. I will continue working for you," he said.
The former legislator hinted running for governor in Nyamira County. Governor John Nyagarama is set to retire in 2022 having served his second term.
Previously, Mr Mose has accused Bosire of sabotage, accusing him of using his networks to frustrate service delivery across the constituency.
"Let us respect leaders who were chosen. If you lost, just wait until the right time comes. We are ready to tackle you any time. For now, allow me to work with wananchi," he said at a past event in Miriri.
