A child's name has some mystical powers behind it, some people believe. There are those who name their children after certain events or after some people in the scriptures.

However, while naming your child, it’s important to note that there are some names which are prohibited in different parts of the country.

Since your child might want to travel to some countries, it’s worth noting that some names might raise issues in some countries around the world.

According to Cyprus Daily names such as Rihanna, Sayarona, Jimmy, and Viking falls have been blacklisted by the Portuguese government due to their Anglicized nature.

Other names such as Alice, Maya, and Abdul are illegal in Saudi Arabia because of their association with Egypt's Cold War nationalist ruler Gamal Abdul Nasser.

Germany and Denmark have a policy against gender-neutral names and therefore names such as Taylor, Ashley, Morgan, and Jordan are not good.

Zoe, Harriet, Duncan, Enrique, and Ludwig are unacceptable in Iceland too. The country only accepts names with letters which falls into the Icelandic alphabet, which leaves out names that contain letters such as W and Q.
