Amani National Congress (ANC) supremo Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday offered veiled criticism of Deputy President William Ruto in Central Kenya.
Referring to himself as Macharia, Mudavadi said that unlike other people who wanted debts to be paid, an indirect reference to DP Ruto, he was on a search as his name 'Macharia' suggested.
"I am not here to ask for any debt to be paid. I am a person who searches like my name suggests," Mudavadi said.
There has been chatter about Central Kenya being indebted to the Deputy President after his support for Uhuru's presidential bid in 2013 and 2017.
Ruto's allies contend that there is an agreement that Ruto will be Jubilee's presidential candidate in 2022.
Mudavadi spoke in Mathioya Constituency during the burial ceremony of Sasini Managing Director Stephen Githiga's father, Luka Macharia.
He said that he would be in the ballot in 2022.
