Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has refuted rumours circulating on social media asserting that he had an affair with the slain Moi University student.
On his Facebook page, the legislator shared a screenshot of WhatsApp conversation between two individuals gossiping about the late Wangechi on Sunday.
One of the two friends was enquiring from the other the cause of her death.
The other noted that his boyfriend killed her, then went further to reveal that Wangechi associated with many people in Eldoret town, including the Kapseret MP.
Sudi chose to forgive the rumour, saying it was on a Palm Sunday and forgiving one another was a vital virtue that needed to be fostered on that day.
He termed the act juvenile and wicked adding that such people are insensitive to the family of the late.
"Given that today is a Palm Sunday, I choose to forgive whoever did this. It's immoral, immature and inhuman to share such malicious crap on social media even as the family is grieved by the gruesome murder of Ivy.
Furthermore, it's cruel, callous and barbaric to wish someone some sickness because no sane human can do so to his/her fellow being," read part of the post.
He denied knowing Ivy Wangechi but expressed his sympathies to her family.
"I personally never knew Ivy but I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Ivy," said Sudi.
The vocal legislator went ahead to quote a Bible verse that talks about forgiveness.
