In 2018, Somali elders called on Wajir Women Rep Fatuma Gedi for making what they called unpalatable utterances against Gideon Moi.

Gedi had taken a swipe at Gideon Moi for visiting Garissa County without the permission from Garissa Township MP Aden Duale.

"This man has come to Garissa without the permission from the majority leader, " Gedi said in Somali.

The elders said that Gedi's remarks were disrespectful not just to Gideon Moi but also to Former President Moi.

They asked the Moi family to forgive the Somali community on behalf of Gedi.

Gideon Moi had visited the North Eastern region in a bid to bolster himself ahead of the 2022 elections.

The Baringo senator is expected to run in 2022.

The Women Rep continues to be caught up in controversies, the latest being a devastating unverified sex video which she claims was doctored to smear her reputation.
