Police in Uasin Gishu County are investigating an incident where a man was allegedly killed and his body dumped at a hotel under construction.
According to the owner of the hotel Jeremiah Rotich, the body was discovered by a plumber who was working at the site on Monday.
He added that the deceased, who is said to be a relative of a local politician, has been a customer at the hotel for some time.
“The plumber was looking for tin when he walked to the area under construction and found the body of a well-dressed man,” he stated.
He said that the man who was smartly dressed when he was found dead was seen at a nearby drinking joint a week to his death.
Rotich added that the case has since been raised with the police who have launched a probe into the matter, and are examining the hotel's CCTV camera recordings.
"Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to unravel what actually happened. We hope what transpired with be unravelled," said the proprietor.
People who knew the deceased termed him an outgoing nan who was fairly popular in the region.
The incident which happened only a few metres from Chepakanga Chief's Camp and Administration Police post was confirmed by Moiben Deputy County Commissioner Lilian Langat.
She said that the incident was reported at 3 pm.
