There is high tension at Rangenyo village in Nyamira township ward, Nyamira County after a man was killed in a suspected love triangle.
Residents said the deceased, George Nyang'au, was seducing a married woman, Evelyn Osebe and that was at one time, pounced on having sex with her.
Walter Manwaye, a resident of the ward who knew the deceased well and his habits says they had warned him against having an illicit affair with somebody else's wife but he threw caution to the wind.
"Nyang'au hails from Nyabite area and he has been warned several times against seducing Osebe but, he could not listen. He was caught having sex with her by Osebe's husband, Peter Makori," Manwaye said on Monday.
He revealed that at this juncture, "Makori picked a metal rod and hit him from the back of his head and killed him on spot."
Area chief, Joseph Mong'are said the deceased left his home on Sunday evening but, he never returned.
"Nyang'au left his home on Sunday evening to a nearby shopping center where he met with Osebe who took him to her house where they were caught making out. He was killed by Osebe's husband who later dumped the body at the roadside where it was recovered on Monday morning," said Mong'are.
He said the suspect escaped after the incident but, he is being traced to be arrested to face prosecution.
The chief said the deceased body was taken to Nyamira County hospital mortuary.
He warned residents against killing each other saying legal means should be used to solve problems in the society.
