People’s thoughts vary, but on most occasions they revolve around similar things.
Luos, for instance, share many things in thinking, most of which are positive and developmental.
Here are some of them;
1. Education
Luos are the most intelligent and learned persons in Kenya, judging by their domination of legal firms, engineering fields and teaching institutions.
Therefore, the new generation is unwilling to lose track of the example set by their fathers and mothers and is also keen on ensuring a continuation of the same.
The seniors, on the other hand, feel that what they already have is not enough, hence the reason why Luos tend to have many different PhDs, some in fields they have never even admired.
2. Politics
Most Luos are lovers of politics, a factor that has been propagated by their recurrent participation in the nation’s presidential race, courtesy of founding father Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and his son, current opposition chief Raila Odinga.
Luos have over the years eagerly waited to have their son in the top seat and wholeheartedly come out in millions, bore the scorching sun to tick next to Raila’s mugshot on the ballot paper.
Talking ill of Raila will land you in trouble with most Luos, especially the male.
3. Dala
No matter how far they are from Nyanza, Luos always have some thought for their homeland, known as Dala in Dholuo.
Though some hardly ever go back, most of them will always be back to check on their parents and the progress of their farms, livestock and kins.
They always include the trips in their budget and allocate funds to realize them, with some money set aside to say thank you to the parents for taking care of the young them.
