Political analyst Prof Herman Manyora has opined that there are many attacks the handshake team is making towards Deputy President William Ruto over the new currency.
Speaking in his weekly youtube show 'Take it or leave it', Manyora said that Ruto's political allies like Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro appeared to have confirmed that the change in currency is a fight directed at DP Ruto.
"The attacks that now must be read together with the change in currency, the demonetization of the 1000 notes which by statements from his own people, the Ndindi Nyoros, the Osoros and almost admission was aimed at him (DP Ruto)," Manyora opined.
Manyora added that there is a perception of DP Ruto having a lot of cash in his house.
The attacks waged on the DP by former Jubilee vice-chairman David Murathe, COTU secretary-general Francis Atwoli among others, according to Manyora, are strategies put in place by the handshake team to force DP Ruto into submission.
"These attacks beginning with attacks from people who had been close to him , his party leaders like David Murathe, attacks from people like SG Raphael Tuju, attack from combative secretary-general Francis Atwoli, attacks more recently from Nyanja Kayafa, intimidation and harassment of his supporters including withdrawal of security, attacks using the church and a host of things are hurdles that have been placed in his way so that William Ruto is forced into submission," Manyora said.
Manyora noted that there were rumours going around that leaders from the handshake side had already been warned of the change of currency before it happened so they had time to bank the monies to catch DP Ruto's side by surprise.
These attack strategies according to Manyora may force Ruto to submit.
