Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has joined leaders calling for constitutional amendments.
According to the Bungoma senator, the constitution needs to be amended in order to serve Kenyans better.
Earlier in the year, Wetangula was among leaders who had opposed constitutional changes stating that they were meant to benefit a few.
Speaking on Monday, Wetangula said that leaders opposed to constitutional changes have misplaced ideologies.
“Those people who are crying foul about having the office of a prime minister, or a deputy prime minister are people who are just whistling in the dark. This is inevitable… it is coming… and it will happen,” stated Wetangula.
Wetangula argues that Kenya lacks inclusivity hence expanding the executive will ensure all Kenyans are equal hence curbing ethnic animosity in the country.
“This country must go back to a parliamentary system or a mixed system where we do not have this winner takes it all restrictive structure that has nearly torn our country apart,” he added.
However, a section of leaders allied to the Deputy President William Ruto have strongly opposed the proposed any amendment to the constitution.
