Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has refused to be sucked into the vexed question of whether he will contest in the 2022 Kiambu gubernatorial election.
Speaking to NTV's Olive Burrows on Thursday, Kabogo would not give a clear answer only saying that it was too early to weigh in on his political future.
"2022 is too far my dear. It is 3 years from now and a week in politics is a very long time," Kabogo said.
Some political analysts have fronted the former county supremo as possible presidential candidate, or a running mate in a presidential ticket.
He is seen to wield tremendous influence among the Central Kenya region, and has been using his stature to weigh in on national politics.
His loss to Waititu in the governing Jubilee party nominations, and loss as an independent candidate in the gubernatorial contest, was variously described by pundits as a shocking electoral upset.
Waititu's impeachment has opened the door for his possible return to county politics.
His image among Kiambu residents appear to have significantly improved and is he seen as a saviour who was rejected.
It remains to be seen what path he will take ahead of the 2022 general elections.
