Redeemed Gospel Church Bishop Kepha Omae, has had his say following Madaraka Day's outburst that involved Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris and Governor Mike Sonko.

Addressing the congregation on Sunday in Nairobi, the Bishop called for sobriety and compromise among the leaders in all that they do.

He was critical of the fact that the church is usually not called in to strike a truce after the occurrence of such incidences. He believes there should be a shift away from that and allow for general accountability and decent behaviour from the leaders during public holidays.

"Even if there was an issue, it should not have come to the public; it should have been solved in the boardroom," said Bishop Omae.

The Madaraka Day incident was one of the lows that have characterised the historic day ever since its first commemoration.

Sonko issued lashed out at Passaris after she called for prudent use of county funds, something that did not sit very well with the Nairobi Governor.

The governor's tirade forced Passaris out of the fete but it later emerged that the two leaders talked and squared the matter.
