For the last week, Uhuru has been under pressure from Mt Kenya region with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria openly accusing him of allegedly neglecting the region which voted for him overwhelmingly.

"Let us say the truth. We are being used as voting robots and after elections, development is taken elsewhere. We must condemn this nonsense," he said.

So explosive were his remarks that even President Uhuru Kenyatta had to directly dismiss him on Monday, saying that he's mandated to work indiscriminately for all Kenyans.

And after five days of conspicuous silence, Ruto seemingly told off Uhuru's critics, arguing that the government will treat all regions equally.

"In 2013, Jubilee rolled out a comprehensive development programme to transform Kenya. From the SGR; construction of 7,000km of roads; revamping the NHIF to increase medical cover for Kenyans; 4.6m new electricity connections to households; setting up 160 technical training institutes spread across the country in a deliberate move to ensure equity. Jubilee, under the President’s tutelage, will continue to propagate projects in every corner of our country." https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2443504172344772&id=244554088906469

The DP's statement came after a section of leaders allied to Uhuru blamed him of allegedly inciting certain leaders against the DP using the narrative of Mt Kenya region development.

Dr Ruto is said to be worried of remarks by Uhuru's ally David Murathe that he is not a suitable candidate for State House even though he has supported the president for the last two elections.
