Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has sued the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji over what he terms as harassment and intimidation.
Kidero through his lawyer Tom Ojienda accuses Haji and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) of infringing on his rights.
In papers filed at the Milimani High Courts on Wednesday, Kidero claims that Haji is using his office to harass him in the name of fighting graft.
The former Nairobi governor says that DPP and EACC have been searching his offices and home without search warrants.
He now says that Haji and EACC are a threat to his family.
Kidero says that his family is living in fear over the alleged forceful raids EACC detectives have been conducting in his home.
In the court papers, Kidero wants the DPP and the EACC barred from storming to his home and offices.
Kidero says that DPP has a weak case against him and is looking for information that does not exist.
The former governor further says that he has not looted any public money as the DPP and EACC are claiming.
In August, Haji ordered for Kidero’s arrest and prosecution over alleged mismanagement and misuse of public funds during his tenure as Nairobi governor.
Kidero was charged alongside other former county officials.
The former ODM governor is out on a Sh 2 Million bail.
