1. Serotonin drops

Most people do not know what happens to the level of their serotonin when they fall in love. According to Dr Marazziti of the University of Pisa, there will be a drop in the level of this hormone once you have fallen in love. The hormone makes you feel obsessed with your new partner. 

2. Cortisol surges

Research also found out that the level of the hormone cortisol normally increases when you fall in love. The reduction of serotonin sees an increases in the cortisol level. The hormone prepares your body for flight or fight, hence when the levels are high, you'll feel energised. 

3. Anxiety lowers

Your levels of anxiety often reduce when you are in love. You do not expect surprises in life because things seem to favour you. Women and men in love are less anxious about different things compared to those who are not.

4. Diminishing sexual differences

The level of the hormone testosterone will drop in a man and surge in a woman when the two fall in love. This causes the couple to be more alike.
