Led by area MP Kimani Ngunjiri, the leaders said that the polls were well orchestrated politically to malign some leaders and paint them in a bad light.

Ngunjiri, who spoke in Nakuru town on Friday, said that whereas the Uhuru-Raila handshake was meant to bring national unity, some politicians were taking advantage of it to malign others in order to score political goals.

“Tom Wolf should authenticate the interviewees in the polls if at all the research was authentic and credible,” said Ngunjiri.

Ngunjiri called on Deputy President William Ruto and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru not to be distracted by the poll which rated them as most corrupt in Kenya.

According to the poll, Ruto led the pact of most corrupt with 33% followed by Waiguru at 31%.

The two leaders have also dismissed the opinion poll as the work of their political competitors who want to cut them to size politically ahead of the 2022 race.
