Garissa-born Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has once again issued a controversial social statement, this time revealing tribes which are just spectators on political matters.
"The defining feature of Kenya's politics right from 1963 is a cutthroat struggle between 41 tribes on who will play second fiddle to the Kikuyu. And the contest to play second fiddle has principally narrowed down to a tussle between the Luo & the Kalenjin...the rest are spectators," posted Ahmednasir
Incidentally, the Somali community also falls within the spectator tribes.
The lawyers' sentiments were also echoed by Garissa Township legislator Aden Duale who also declared his stand by a brief supporting comment tagged on the controversial post.
"Sc well said spot on," commented Duale.
The Thursday social media post by the vocal and yet controversial lawyer is expected to spark massive reactions from members of the said 'spectator' tribes.
Even as 2022 politics slowly gain momentum, communities are fast-tracking their preferred candidates in readiness for the next electioneering period.
As for the North Eastern region, their fate is already in the public domain since a number of their regional politicians including Majority Leader Aden Duale and the Garissa governor Ali Bunow Korane among others have already declared support for Deputy President William Ruto.
This evidently makes the Somali community an invaluable 'spectator' going by Ahmednasir's revelation.
