A furious Uhuru blasted Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria following his remarks that the president has marginalised his Central Kenya backyard.

"I will continue traversing this nation from Moyale to Namanga and Kisumu to Mombasa. All Kenyans deserve development and this is what we should do," he said.

His remarks were directed to Kuria and a section of Mt Kenya region legislators who feel that the region has been sidelined in terms of development.

But Jubilee leaders from Nyamira insist that the president is a symbol of National Unity and should serve all Kenyans without discrimination.

"The president is absolutely right. Those attacking him should know that Kenya is big. He should work for everyone. It's hypocrisy to claim that Central Kenya has been neglected," said Benson Sironga, Rigoma MCA.

Caleb Motari, a youth leader added: "The president is for all of us. He was elected across the country and therefore, Kenyans deserve development without prejudices."

Uhuru is facing a rebellion in Central Kenya, a region that has been his support base for the last eight years since he expressed intentions to succeed President Mwai Kibaki.
