Homa Bay County Senator Moses Kajwang has said it will be difficult for President Uhuru Kenyatta to sack his deputy William Ruto as the law is very complex.
Speaking on Citizen TV's Day Break show on Monday morning, the senator posited that the country should be awakened from slumber land and admit to the fact that the Head of State cannot sack his deputy.
"Let us be honest, the President cannot sack his deputy," he said, adding that the investigative agencies have not initiated any probe on DP Ruto as he is the country's second in command and part of the Presidency.
"The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) seem very reluctant to commence any investigations and prosecutions on the deputy president," he added.
The ODM brigade led by Siaya Senator and Senate Minority Leader James Aggrey Orengo had vowed to move a motion in Parliament seeking for the removal of the deputy president on grounds of corruption and gross misconduct.
A section of opposition politicians has been criticising DP Ruto ever since ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Kenyatta entered into a truce on March 9, 2018, with the aim of uniting the nation.
