In a dramatic twist of event on Friday, IEBC dismissed Mr. Chiloba on grounds that he had defied an order to appear in the disciplinary committee.

"He was served with the letter because he failed to appear as scheduled before the disciplinary committee," said Andrew Limo.

But Chiloba insisted that the commission had made preconceived decision to send him home adding that he was in the UK for studies at the time he was required to appear.

ODM Communication Director Philip Etale however says Mr. Chiloba will now have an opportunity to intensify his campaigns to succeed Governor Patrick Khaemba.

"IEBC finally fires CEO Ezra Chiloba. He now wants to concentrate on his bid for Governor of Transnzoia County in the 2022 general election."

Should Chiloba join the race, he is likely to face Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa, who has been rallying locals to back his bid.

And Mr. Chiloba will have Jubilee and ODM to chose from since Wamalwa is expected to run on Ford Kenya ticket.

Chiloba's relationship with Raila Odinga's party deteriorated in 2017 elections after ODM accused him of bungling elections.
