A month does not elapse without reports of suspects arrested for being in possession of bhang worth millions of money. 

Apart from the raid in Keumbu where Sh2 million bhang as estimated was found, on April two suspects were arrested and taken to court for possessing Sh5 million bhang. 

However, they were released under unclear circumstances that led to the rise of many questions from the public.

Earlier on, another suspect was arrested and taken to Rioma police station after he was caught transporting bhang worth millions of money he was also released under unclear circumstances.

A source said that there is a senior police officer who works with the drug peddlers and does all he can to ensure the peddlers have succeeded.

Another police source also said that there is an officer posted in the region who cracked a whip on the drug peddlers and colleague officers benefitting from the sale of drugs were not happy.

The County police coordinator Hassan Abdi said on Monday that a serious action will be taken against the officers involved in the illegal business.

"No mercy on such officers who sacrifice their profession and lias with criminals in drug trafficking. The fight against illegal drugs must continue since it is affecting everybody in the society," said Hassan.
