Members of the Kisumu Rugby Football Club (RFC) are mourning the death of their former player Richard Sidindi alias Jadhah.
Sidindi, who until his death was playing for Impala Saracens, died on Monday morning while on a ‘routine swimming’ at Impala Grounds in Nairobi.
A statement released by Kisumu RFC termed the late as a dedicated rugby player.
“Kisumu RFC is deeply saddened by the death of our former player Richard Sidindi which occurred on the morning of Monday 25 February 2019 in Nairobi Jadhah, as he was popularly known, was an affable character and a dedicated rugby player,” read a section of the statement.
“He joined our team in 2005 immediately after completing his high school education at St. Mary's Yala and would feature for us while he undertook his undergraduate studies at Maseno University until 2011 when he made the move to Impala Saracens, the club that he turned out for until his demise,” added the statement.
The statement adds that he was also part of the Western Buffaloes franchise that played in the now-defunct Bamburi Rugby Super Series in 2010 and 2011.
He leaves behind a wife and one kid.
